50 World Best Restaurants

Restaurant magazine has released its annual list of the 50 best restaurants in the world. It is the 10th time that restaurant magazine is revealing this honorable list, which is compiled by a panel of over 800 industry professionals. Among the judges are some of the world most renown chefs, educators and critics. It is fair to say that none of the voters can vote their own restaurant or might have an interest in. Best of all there are no criteria to be met, which makes every restaurant in the world eligible with no applications are accepted to be on the list. Restaurant magazine claims that no external pressure or opinions from the magazine itself or their sponsors influence the decision made by the panel.

Noma of Copenhagen in Denmark has been voted for the third time in a row as the best restaurant in the world. 5 restaurants from New York have earned a position under the 50 world best restaurants. Thomas Keller with its iconic restaurants French Laundry and Per Sehas archived 2 positions under

best 50. Beside that he was awarded the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award and Best North American Restaurant. Per Se moved up 4 places to number 6 in the world and French Laundry was number 43. Eleven Madison Park accomplished number 10, Le Bernadin number 19, Daniel number 25 and Momofuku Ssäm Bar number 37 respectively. Congratulations to all restaurants and chefs. It is inspiring to see great chefs influencing the restaurant industry with their talents and a privilege to learn from them.
